"I always knew I wanted to be a trader, but I didn’t know which markets would suit me best. The simulation trading labs and experiential technology that sits in the Cornerstone platform gave me the insights I needed."Mateusz, Trader from Łódź
Keith’s first foray into the world of trading was a back office role for German Investment Bank Helaba followed by Trade Support at Credit Suisse. From the start, he knew he wanted the front office experience. So he took a leap of faith, and remortgaged his home to start trading his own account when OSTC was still Trading Connections back in 2000.
Gradually, he moved away from trading his own account to working with a group of traders under the (by now) OSTC model. More recently, Keith has moved into the eLearning division of the business. He now helps head up ZISHI – something he feels proud to be involved with as part of OSTC’s diversifying portfolio of brands.”
Simon began his career in the early 1980’s at Hambro’s Bank in FX and deposit markets before helping to establish the bank’s derivatives trading activities. From 1987 to 1998, he traded as an independent option market-maker on Liffe (now ICE).
From 2008 to 2010 he worked at a hedge fund and has a wide and varied experience of Derivatives. Today, with Co-Head Bill Beagles, Simon heads up the ZISHI Consultancy and Coaching division to offer executive level consultancy, workshops, and intensive masterclasses to many of the world’s top corporates.
Under Simon’s coaching, clients fully grasp and implement efficient hedging and risk management policies, often within days. Considering how commodity price movements can destroy the profits of an airline or consumer goods company, he believes this kind of specialist learning is “simply invaluable.”
After graduating in economics in 1984, Bill traded FX spot, forwards and options for Lloyds Bank before helping to establish their presence on Life when options started trading in 1985. Moving to specialist option market AOT, Bill successfully traded on many of Europe’s markets, including the London Stock Exchange and Liffe in London, the German DTB (now Eurex), the Dutch EOE and the French MATIF.
Bill worked at a hedge fund from 2008 to 2010 and has trading experience of all asset classes, including equities, fixed income and commodities. He’s also the author of Equity and Index Options Explained (Wiley Publishing). When asked what he feels the biggest shift is in learning over the past 10 years, Bill says, “a shift towards using a blended (digital and physical face-to-face) methodology.”
