Although OSTC was smaller in comparison to other companies I applied for, I was excited by the opportunity of working for such a fast growing and ambitious company, with plenty of potential to grow even further. I knew that by joining a small but specialised team that there would be plenty of opportunity for me to contribute and add value to the team and business as a whole. Now 4 years on and after a wealth of exposure to complex and challenging reporting I have enhanced my VBA skills as well as developed my SQL abilities. I have progressed from Data Analyst to Finance Data Manager and am starting to grow my own team. We are responsible for developing and delivery of business critical data to the finance team which links with the overall company objectives for automation and simplification. Everyone here has key role to play and the major reward aside from financial is the development and progression opportunity which is now available in many of the larger corporates.

I decided to join OSTC as it was an exciting opportunity to work for a company that you would normally expect to find located in Central London. The department was going through a time of change and it seemed an exciting prospect to mould my own position. Over the course of the first year my role gradually expanded as my understanding of the OSTC business model increased. From the accounts payable function and cash reporting for the Group, to more involvement in the production of the management accounts. In August 2016 I left OSTC to pursue an entrepreneurial opportunity. This was not an easy decision as I was very happy at OSTC. However, they were fully supportive and advised to stay in touch.

At the end of 2016 OSTC contacted me to see if I would provide cover for the UK Management Accountant role and support for various other on-going projects, the department is always evolving and improving. As this coincided with the end of my entrepreneurial project, it was an ideal opportunity and I returned at the beginning of 2017. In October later that year I applied for a newly created role of Treasury and Inter Company Accountant. Having worked at previous companies where existing employees were overlooked for new positions, I am very happy that my efforts over the years have been recognised.

What I find most rewarding working at OSTC is the fact that whilst having your specific responsibilities there is always the opportunity to branch out and get involved with other areas of the business. This means that you do not become stagnated and that there is always a chance to expand your knowledge.

I joined OSTC in 2009 straight after University where I studied Corporate Finance and Strategies specialising in Financial Markets. OSTC ticked all the boxes for me with regards to the industry, global footprint and was offering an amazing opportunity to work in the world of global exchanges, alongside key market players.

I began my journey in our Warsaw office as an Assistant Accountant. With the support from the Group CFO I progressed firstly to an accountant role, and then onto the Finance Analyst FP Manager and Commercial Controller position based in the UK. By then I was working closely with the Business Development side of the Company, and was offered to join the team and support the Director of Business Development in diversification of OSTC risk through private investments. I am currently managing a portfolio of investments into various start-up companies across a range of industries. I would never have been able to imagine this in 2009, and this is what makes OSTC great.

OSTC is a dynamic company and the most challenging and exciting aspect, is being able to keep up. Things change quickly, it requires self-discipline and focus.
